On a winter day in late January, we were on our way to Harpswell, when we saw a Barred Owl sitting on a fence post in South Freeport. We stopped so we could take a look at it from a distance and take a few photos. The owl seemed pretty content to continue sitting on the post. Eliza was really excited that she got to see the owl too, and she thought it was really neat. She has really liked Barred Owls since we heard a pair of them hooting during the night when we were camping last summer.
