A Short Walk With a Great View at the Wilbur Preserve

Rachel and I went for a walk at the Wilbur Preserve at Cox Head in Phippsburg. The quarter mile trail winds through the woods as it climbs to the top of a rocky overlook. The view from the overlook is quite stunning, since it faces Fort Popham, Popham Beach, and has views of several lighthouses in the distance. On the day we went, it was quite hazy, hot, and humid, which obscured some of the distant ocean view. It was a fun place to visit, and the drive to get there and back was fun too. We stopped to enjoy a view of the Kennebec River and Squirrel Point Light on the opposite shore. On this walk, we took a Canon Sure Shot 80 Tele camera that I had recently found at Goodwill for $4. Rachel and I both had fun trying it out.
