During one of the last weekends of March, and right after the official beginning of Spring, we had an ice storm here in South Freeport. It started during a snowstorm that was forecast to change over to rain on the coast. However, it stayed colder than forecast, and changed to a quickly accumulating freezing rain instead. We lost power early in the evening, and spent the night listening to tree branches cracking and falling in the woods nearby. The next morning was sunny and pleasant, and made the glaze of ice on the trees look beautiful, even after it had been so destructive. I took a few photos of trees and branches near our house.
