Camping at Half Moon Pond State Park

In late June, we packed up the car and drove to Hubbarton, Vermont for a week of camping at Half Moon Pond State Park. This was our third year camping in Vermont in June, but our first time at Half Moon Pond. We loved the park. It is a relatively small campground with about 60 sites split on two sides of the pond. It was very peaceful and family friendly. We enjoyed listening to the Bullfrogs at night, and we could see many fish swimming in the water. There was a small sandy beach within a short walk of our campsite, which was perfect for playing in the water with the girls. One morning, we rented a pedal boat and went for a cruise around the pond. There were opportunities for nice walks as well. We had a mix of weather, with some thunderstorms, heavy rain, and wind at the beginning of the week, but warm and sunny days for the second half of our stay. We also spent time in Middlebury with Rachel’s family.
