Camping at Mount Blue State Park, and a Scenic Drive Through the Carrabassett Valley

In mid-July, we went camping at Mount Blue State Park in Weld. We had a nice few days camping, even though we had to endure some rain and thunderstorms at various times during the week. Eliza had a lot of fun on the beach, and Lindsey loved riding in her floaty in the lake. On the second day we were there, we went for a scenic drive up Route 27. Our first stop was Sugarloaf. From there, we continued to a scenic pull-off near Flagstaff Lake. Next, we stopped at the Cathedral Pines and went for a walk on the trail there. It was neat walking through the grove of very tall and old Red Pines. Our last stop was the Chain of Ponds, where there was a nice overlook of the area.
