We went for a walk at the Parker Pond Headland Preserve in Fayette. We had previously tried to go for a walk at the preserve the week before, but arrived at the parking area just as a severe thunderstorm was about to come through the area. We tried again on a nice, sunny afternoon. We hiked the Headland Trail, which loops through the woods and near the shore of Parker Pond, before turning and climbing up to a ridge, which has a nice view of the pond and surrounding area. On the first drive to the preserve, we saw some cows by the road, one of which was enjoying standing in the small pond in the field.
