Rachel and I took Eliza with us on a long hike to Cameron Mountain in Camden Hills State Park. Our total distance out and back was over 5 miles, making it our longest recent hike. To get to Cameron Mountain, we followed the Multi-Use Trail, which is a nice wide gravel trail that gradually climbs through the interior of the park. at 1.25 miles, we turned onto the Cameron Mountain Trail which we followed for another 1.25 miles, until we reached the base of Cameron Mountain. The woods opens up into grassy fields and blueberry barrens, and after a quick climb to the top, we were rewarded with nice views of the other Camden Hills and the surrounding countryside, along with a glimpse of the ocean. After our hike, we had lunch in Camden, and enjoyed the waterfront views of Camden Harbor.
