As part of our June vacation, we drove Downeast. Rachel, Eliza, and I had never been to the easternmost parts of Maine before, so we were excited to do some exploring in the area. We visited West Quoddy Head Light, which is in Lubec, and is also known as the easternmost point in the United States. It was foggy at the lighthouse, but we enjoyed checking it out. We walked down to one of the stone covered beaches nearby. We also went for a hike on the Coast Guard Trail, which loops through a pretty and peaceful area of woods on the peninsula.
