A Picnic at Mount Blue State Park

On a day off in early August, we went for a drive to Mount Blue State Park in Weld. We had visited the park once before, a couple years ago, and decided that it was time to go back. We brought along a picnic lunch to have by the beach on Webb Lake. We found a picnic table perfectly located between the lake, the beach, and the playground. After having our lunch, we enjoyed the big bench swing that overlooks the lake and Mount Blue. Just as we went down to the beach to check out the water, there was a sudden downpour that lasted just a few minutes. Eventually the skies cleared a bit, and we had fun in the warm water of the Webb Lake. Before we left, Eliza checked out the playground and had a lot of fun on the swings. A few approaching rumbles of thunder told us that it was time to go. Before we left, we drove around the large, wooded, Mount Blue State Park Campground. We are hoping to camp there in future years, and made a list of good looking campsites.
