We drove to Porter, which is south of Fryeburg and not too far from the New Hampshire state line. The trail for Bald Ledge starts from a parking area on a rough dirt road, and is marked with wooden trail markers with a turtle drawing carved into them. The trail was a nice gradual climb, getting just slightly steep near the ledge. Bald ledge offers a nice view of the surrounding area, including Colcord Pond and Bickford Pond.
